The Special Collections Research Center and University Libraries have launched a new fellowship program that funds graduate and undergraduate research using the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection. Three fellowship categories will fund up to 7 research projects that use archival or published materials from the Appalachian Collection. Successful applicants will be awarded $1000 to support 15 hours of in-person research in the spring of 2027. Applicants must currently be enrolled at Appalachian State University and may come from any academic department or program on campus. Applications are due November 1, 2026 and awards will be made after January 15, 2027. More information at the Libraries’ Fellowships web page.

- Senator James T. and Louise Broyhill Research Fellowship (3 fellowships offered)
